In order to measure the water pressure applied to a ship model, a small and highly sensitive waterproof pressure gauge was required, but there was no suitable sensor.

Ship model experiment
A semi-conductor gauge that is 70 times as sensitive as a metal foil gauge is equipped with a pressure gauge (PRP series). This gauge is capable of outputting 5000 μ strain and 10000 μ strain. Since the temperature response of the zero point is less than or equal to 0.05%/℃ RO, the output fluctuates due to changes in air and water. Sensors can be mounted on the hull surface of a ship model to measure changes in fine water pressure.
